Dear Cassandra Clare, I love your writing. I have read all three of your novels. Twice. Can you please write faster? And in your next book, we need an Isle of Esme chapter. I think you know which characters we want to vacation there.

I love this series! The writing is excellent, I can relate to the characters, I like the side love stories, and the plot has lots of twists and turns. It's rare that I like a series written in the third person this much. I like Clary. She is growing up as the books progress and I like her personality. I love that Clary gets nervous and has racing thoughts. That makes her so relatable! Even if you are not a fan of the paranormal genre, I would recommend the Mortal Instruments series.
Just One Gripe:
This is a very small gripe, but Clare uses the phrase "scrambled to her/his feet" a lot. Why not "stood up," "got to her/his feet," or "rose"? Just a small annoyance.

I have to say this one was my favorite because of the whole battle part. Wish there would've been more and got to see more of the battle. I'm into battles and stuff, where different people get together to fight one enemy. It's epic! And I really can't wait for The Clockwork Angel & City of Fallen Angel (Angels?) Haha I don't remember now.

I read the series last year but decided to re-read and review them when they were fresh on my mind. I think she is one of the top YA authors.
ReplyDeleteI did like the battle, she was kind of like Stephenie Meyer in that she did not place much emphasis on it despite all the lead-up to it.
