Book Review: Spirit by Andrew Feder

Summary:
Randall Lender was a Wanted Man. He was wanted by the Clergy of the Major Organized Religions, the Governments and the New World Order, but that was the least of his problems. After going out of body (astral projection) Randall Lender suddenly found himself in such a paradox where the surrealism meets dilemma. Within this phenomenon of Looking Through the Hour Glass he unfortunately after leaving his physical body ended up into another's. This was his paradox. This was his dilemma. This was his surrealism. And regrettably for Lender this was the real quantum problem. Randall Lender found himself on an unexpected journey with its twists and turns until he realizes that he must die to live for his return to his former body. And now the elixir of questions remains: What? How? And Why? Then you'll ask why me? Why him? And What If?

Review:
As someone who has never been creative and sometimes struggles with what to say in my book reviews, I can appreciate how difficult it must be to write an entire novel.  It is this admiration for authors that led me to make my personal rule of not giving up on a book until I've read 100 pages.

There are three reasons why I leave a book unfinished

  1. I couldn't get into it because I'm not interested in the subject matter.
  2. I don't like the writing.
  3. Something in the book offends me personally.
I read 100 pages of Spirit and stopped because I was not interested in the subject matter (astral projection), I didn't like the writing style, and the language offended me.  I'm sure that there are plenty of people out there who would love this book; but I'm not one of them.  I apologize, Andrew Feder.  I tried to like Spirit, I really did.

  1. Holy snap! Now I'm afraid to read it =D

But I'm interested to know how it offended you? Was it like offending you personally or as a woman or something?

Now I really am afraid lol

  2. LOL Michael!

No, it offended me with the language and content. It was vulgar. Also, the God/Angels/Devil thing I didn't like.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love this type of book, but not me.

But you may feel totally differently----I'm anxious to see what you think of it.

  3. Ah the vulgar language I can take. I mean I do live in Newark lol (if you lived here you would know what I mean)

But the God/Angels/Devil thing hmmm. I can kinda take it but if I feel like it's preaching on me then I might stop too. I'm not really a religious person. Like, at all. But I'll try to read it and put up my thoughts =D
