Waiting on Wednesday (7/14/10)

This is my first time joining Jill at Breaking the Spine's weekly Waiting on Wednesday meme!

This week, I am waiting on Linger by Maggie Stiefvater.  I enjoyed Shiver (though not as much as Natalie enjoyed it) and I am looking forward to  hearing more about Grace and Sam.  They have such a sweet love story.

What are you waiting on?

  1. I still haven't read Shiver! I guess I will have to soon or it might be spoiled. Everyone is going nuts for Linger and I want to join in! So I guess I'll be looking forward to this book also soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! :)

For anyone else.... My WoW is here.

  6. I read SHIVER and only thought it was so-so. It was very slow moving. There wasn't much to the plot, either. The author writes wonderfully, though. Sam's character is very lyrical. Grace is a so-so character, but Sam is definitely the standout. I'm reading LINGER right now and I keep the same opinion. I'm about 100 pages from finishing and it's ... eh. I don't regret reading these books, but really the only redeeming quality is the lyrical style. Other than that, it offers nothing. I'm what.. 250 pages in or more and there's really hardly any new knowledge, and the "big thing" (which you know from the prologue, which shouldn't have been included and kept the reader guessing for at least a little bit) to happen to Grace hasn't even happened. Sigh. I want to like these books as much as others do, but I just can't LOVE them. Like? Sure. I'll keep reading these but I wish they offered more.
