To Neal Shusterman: I want to be Rewound.

I don't talk about it much, but I have a genetic immune deficiency that I've lived with my whole life.  It's not an easy disease to have...my immune system has no memory and so I catch the same infections over and over.  My life is a lot like the movie Groundhog Day.  The cells that fight infection, antibodies, I don't have enough of those.  So, I get sick allthetime.  And it gets really old.

Having just finished the unparalleled Neal Shusterman's UnSouled, I started thinking.  I said it as a joke to Natalie, that I needed a new body.  And then I said, well I guess I need to be Rewound.  I would so love a do-over, to get a body with an immune system that worksOf course, I don't want to take anyone else's body parts but Shusterman ends UnSouled with a semi-revelation that means if I were to jump through the pages into his world, I could have a new body without hurting anyone else.  So, now I need your help.  Remember that Jodi Picoult YA book where the reader jumps into the story she's reading?  Between the Lines ?

Well, that's what I need to do.  I need to somehow get into Neal Shusterman's world and get a new body.  Reading this post, I sound crazy.  I probably am...but after living with an incurable, difficult-to-treat disease for 33 years, I'm pretty much open to any new solutions.  :)

  2. So sorry to hear about your illness. Life truly is not fair for some people. I hope you have things in your life that you can be thankful for. You obviously enjoy reading and blogging and are good at it.

    1. Thank you! You're right...I have many things to be thankful for: my husband and daughter, supportive parents and family, and several true friends who accept me as I am. Thank you for the compliments.

  4. So here is the plan, first we jump into Neal's world and you get rewound. Then we jump into Twilight and both become vampires... scratch that becoming a vampire is too much of a commitment. We will jump into Vampire Academy and steal Dimitri and then we can jump into Hunger Games and knock off Gayle before he invents a device that kills Prim, eat some Peeta bread and make Katniss our beastie and ensure she doesn't become the broken down girl in the closet (#mockingjayepicfail). I'm not sure where we could go next, I'll leave that up to you... should our husbands be jealous?
